PHB Rosemary & Lavender body care review

Few weeks ago, my eczema was flaring up and I was running out of doctor's medicine. Well, I could just go to the clinic and seek a dermatologist again, but I preferred to treat it with something natural (as always). I read that lavender is great for eczema and I was so eager to try restoring body set duo from Pure Ethical Beauty, which consists of body wash and body lotion in pair, made from rosemary and lavender as active ingredients.

It is recommended by the PHB themselves that this restoring body line is good for those who suffer from eczema and psoriasis.

The packaging
Let me start with the 'outer look' first. They are packaged in elegant and slim bottles, which for me are very convenient with each 250 ml body wash and lotion. The closures are in pump type (you know, like typical spray mist bottle), and they can be locked when not in use, so it's pretty hygienic when I apply the product onto my skin. I also love the soft purple colour that distinct this line from others, most probably because it marks the colour of lavender flower ♥

The products
Since they contain no "heavy" chemicals (like all PHB products), I don't expect them to be strong smelling. The lavender fragrant is subtle, but it is the nicest part of the products :) however, if you're used to fancy-fragrant lotions and body wash, they might not come to your liking. For the body wash, it has little to no foam since it does not contain SLS, but I must say it is very effective to wash away the grease immediately. While for the body lotion, it absorbs quickly and it feels light on my skin... The beauty of organic skincare products :)

The results? I knew I had to be patient, so I didn't expect they would calm my eczema overnight. But with the right diet, developed healthier lifestyle while using these set, just after two weeks of using my skin was improved. And like every organic product (unless you have allergy), I suffered no side effects, unlike when I was taking doctor's medicine. Oh I could also apply them over and over again as I wished when my eczema was dry, without worrying the lotion would irritate my skin.

I hope they won't discontinue these set!

Edible Lavender

I think lavender is such a health-friendly flower. It's very beneficial for health and traditionally its extracts are composed into lavender oil. Nowadays, you can find a lot of skincare products enriched with lavender, whether it's because of the unique fragrance or the health benefits.

If you love the smell of lavender, you might not know that lavender can be edible too! In countries where the flowers are native, lavender is made into cakes, breads, pies, pudding and even ice-cream! Alternatively, lavender can also be brewed into tea.

Some delicious examples...

Lavender cheesecake with blueberry
Lavender flourless cupcake (low-calorie)

Lavender shortbread
Lavender and honey raw cheese cake

A cup of lavender tea

Expect it to taste herbal and perfume-like (I guess). I absolutely never try to eat anything made from lavender since the flowers don't grow in where I'm living (Southeast Asia), but if I have a chance I definitely will try so I can describe how it exactly tastes!

For the love of lingerie

I happen to love lingeries. And just recently there were sales in some of the local malls here, they were selling 3 bras for $48, and it's considered cheap because normally for a branded lingerie, $48 is a price of one bra!

Along with a little haul of makeups, I bought...

It's from Triumph, from their Eco-chic collection. Who doesn't know Triumph brand? One of the best lingerie international brands in the history. I really love the designs! They're so pretty and chic! ♥ This collection is entirely made up from natural materials.

The bra that the model wore in this photo is exactly the same like I bought (the second one in my picture). It's in plain creamy white, but oh -- I really love the lacy design on the cups!

I love to wear them so much! The cotton feels so soft against my skin and the material just feels light.
As you see from their tag labels, these bras are made from organic cotton and natural floral print, free from harmful pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

Eco-Chic collection is targeted young women to promote the fun of being eco-friendly and going green without goes out of fashion ;)

sariayu Toba makeup collection 2010 review

A little bit late to post, but I really want to write this because it's the first makeup collection that basically upgraded my interest from skincare to makeups! All these whiles I'm prioritising skincare over cosmetics and I'd never been a huge fan of makeups until I bought this collection:

Sariayu Colour Trend 2010: "Senandung Rimba Sumatra" (English: Song of Sumatran Forests)
For your info, Sumatra island was used to be called as "The Land of Gold" in the past.

They advertised that they formulated the ingredients in the eyeshadows with natural Amethyst powder, and Kiss me quick flower extracts, passion fruit fragrant and SPF 15 in their lip makeup.

Yes, I know it's an old makeup collection, but compare to the Sariayu makeup collections from 2011 onwards, they have bigger packaging on blushers, eyeshadows and powders, and bigger packaging means higher prices. So to put it simply, Sariayu 2010 makeup collection is the last line in which the makeups are sold in smaller packaging.

The colours in this collection, like the name, were inspired from the natures of Sumatra Island. In case you're wondering where on earth Sumatra is, you can peek to the Wikipedia description here, because I can't find a nice map to show you the location (lol).
